Ok, here's the secret.

Before the secret, a little backstory...

A long time ago, in a high school hallway not-that-far-away, Carlos and I started going out.  By the end of high school we were pretty sure we wanted to be together for a very long time.  And we definitely wanted to live together.

But Carlos stayed at home during college, and I stayed in the dorms.  Living together was not to be, at least not the way we would want it.

So we went to class, got our degrees, got out and found jobs and made money.

And made plans to get a place.  Plans that took a little while but would put us at an advantage when we were finally ready.  That would require living with parents so we could save up and buy a place instead of renting.

We had been sticking with our plan.  Last Sunday, now nearly a week ago, we went to some open houses.

On Monday morning we put in an offer on a house we really liked.

On Monday afternoon the sellers accepted our offer.

Yesterday we had an inspection, found some things that needed repairs but nothing too bad, worked out an agreement with the sellers.

Tonight we will sign some papers that make the house ours for real, and we'll settle on July 7.  And what we've wanted for so long will finally happen.
